Once again, Chris and Evangeline, Director of Care, embarked on another adventure to celebrate the end of the most dreaded month of the year, January.
Many Chicago residents dislike January, but Chris holds a deep hatred for the month. The strong feelings are understandable considering the month tends to be dark, cold, and gloomy. Evangeline had the idea several years ago to treat Chris to a special trip to celebrate the start of February. The trip helps Chris turn his January blues into excitement for February.
This year, Chris was extra excited to visit the Antique Fan Museum in Zionsville, Indiana. Early Friday morning, Chris and Evangeline hit the road. The pair had a great day exploring the museum, where Chris befriended another ceiling-fan fanatic. Afterwards, they visited a cat café, enjoyed a delicious Mexican dinner, and had fun at the hotel pool.
The next day, Chris and Evangeline enjoyed the hotel’s breakfast and somehow managed to make it back in time to join the rest of community at this year’s Solidarity Brunch. The trip came to a sweet conclusion when Chris was joyfully reunited with Gary, a long-time volunteer at the Brunch.
Cheers to the end of January and a fantastic getaway trip to celebrate!
