Our community was grateful to welcome nine volunteers from Pepperdine University’s Chicago alumni community for the university’s annual Step Forward Day.
Right away, Johno, a core member, greeted the volunteers at St. Joseph House and gave them an expert tour of the home. Then the volunteers jumped in to help with several projects, including detailing some of our vans, laying carpet squares, and preparing meals, which were delivered to each home. After a week of anticipation, Chris, core member, was excited to meet the volunteers, and Jodi, core member, enjoyed hanging out in the kitchen with everyone.
The day was filled with service, teamwork, and fellowship. We’re so grateful to the Pepperdine alumni, family members, and friends who shared their time and energy with the L’Arche Chicago community.
