Our Spooktacular Bash!

Published 31 October 2025

Halloween is a great time of year at L’Arche Chicago! Core members and assistants dress up in costumes, play games together, pull lighthearted pranks on their roommates, share meals around the table, watch scary movies while huddled on the couch, and of course, enjoy plenty of sweet treats.

Our friends from Hinsdale Bank & Trust/Wintrust (HB&T) made this year’s celebration extra special by volunteering to throw us a spooky bash! They arrived at St. Joseph House with boxes filled to the brim with games, goodie bags, and treats. During the party, we played ring toss, competed in an eyeball-themed relay, ate sloppy joes, and enjoyed the goody bags our friends from HB&T/Wintrust gifted community.

No Halloween party is complete without great costumes! Some outstanding outfits include Jean’s classic wolf costume, Casey dressed as Batman, Stephan as the Mad Hatter, David wearing a vampire cape, Sav’s mime costume, and three assistants who surprised everyone when they dressed as Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Casey, who had been looking forward to the party all month, was thrilled when he won the spiders-in-a-jar competition. His guess of 200 came closest to the correct number of 213! Joyfully, Casey held up his prized jar with a big smile as everyone cheered.

Thank you, HB&T/Wintrust, for making this Halloween season extra spooktacular and fun for our community!
