Lydia, a L’Arche Chicago alum, brightened our day by sharing some cool news. During a recent trip to Japan with her mom, Lydia decided to visit L’Arche Kana no le in Japan. The community is located middle of Japan, in the countryside near Mount Fuji.
During her afternoon visit, Lydia was welcomed into one of the community’s three homes with open arms. She received a tour of the home that overlooks the mountainside and met some of the community’s core members. Many of the core members were proud to share that they belong to a L’Arche workshop that makes and sells soap. Just like our community, L’Arche Kana no le enjoys celebrations, music, and dancing.
Lydia was delighted when she noticed a bunch of L’Arche Chicago cards on display. Even though we are on the other side of the world, it’s amazing to see our communities stay connected.
