Our L’Arche Chicago community began as a vision imagined by dozens of passionate individuals decades before our first home, Angel House, opened its doors. Through the commitment of these founders, our first community leader, Sr. Maria Zeimen, welcomed our first core members to L’Arche Chicago in 2000.

Over the years, L’Arche Chicago has become a home for core members, assistants, and friends who share in our mission to celebrate the unique value of every person, with and without intellectual disabilities.

In honor of our upcoming 25th Anniversary, we welcome everyone to share heartfelt, earnest, and even silly stories of their time with L’Arche Chicago. Stories will be shared on our website and at the BBQ.
