Today, Johno was thrilled to welcome his friends, known as Warriors, from Opportunity Knocks to visit St. Joseph House, his new home. Opportunity Knocks recognizes Johno as an “original OG” and a true cornerstone of their organization, which he has been involved with since day one. It was an important day for Johno to merge the two communities he loves together.
Johno joined L’Arche Chicago two months ago and has quickly become a beloved member of our community. Coming from a family with four brothers, he values quality time with those around him. Core Members can expect a smile and wave whenever they are around Johno.
During his tour of the home, Johno was most excited to share with his friends what his daily schedule entails. He showed the group the laundry room, his bedroom, and the pantry. He was thrilled to welcome the group into the kitchen where he enjoys cooking on Tuesdays, especially when it’s taco night. Leading the group, Johno made sure everyone stayed together and could hear his explanations. Johno said he is looking forward to relaxing on the patio when the weather gets warmer and hopefully reading a book. His favorite of which is Curious George.
Before the Warriors left, everyone gathered for a group picture and lovingly shouted, “We love Johno!”
