10 Years of Joy at Friendship House

This month, we’re celebrating 10 years of Friendship House.

Over the last decade, Friendship House has been a gathering place for countless pool matches between Elbert, our first core member, and dozens of assistants. It’s been a haven of comfort for guests who have shared morning coffee or an occasional hard cider with Tim, a core member, and a place of joy for assistants who have joined Chris for a drive to lunch at Portillo’s.

In 2023, when the home grieved the loss of Elbert, Friendship House found solace in simple moments: shared dinners, crafting afternoons, and walks with the home’s dog, Allie.

When the time came to welcome a new core member, Lisa, the home enthusiastically embraced her calm, creative, and caring nature. Soon, the home was once again filled with renewed energy, karaoke parties, and spa days.

To celebrate a decade of memories, Friendship House held an anniversary party featuring a spicy chicken tasting competition, a running race at Chris’s request, and the hanging of Lisa’s Friendship House poem in the dining room.
